About The Legal Nook, PLLC

The Legal Nook, PLLC grew out of a simple idea: legal help for everyday issues shouldn’t feel intimidating, confusing, or out of reach.

I started this firm in East Hampton as a way to serve the community I live in—both year-round residents and seasonal neighbors—by offering clear advice, practical solutions, and fee structures that actually make sense. With the rising cost of living on Long Island, I understand firsthand how important it is to protect your home, your business, and your plans without feeling like you’re opening the door to an endless, unpredictable legal bill.

Whether you’re a homeowner looking for help with a property management agreement, a seasonal business owner trying to navigate town permits and employment contracts, a landlord or tenant facing a tough situation, or someone who just needs guidance on a traffic ticket or a simple trust and estate matter, you’ll find a steady, understanding advocate here.

I offer both hourly and flat-fee services where appropriate, so you know what to expect from the start. Above all, The Legal Nook exists to give locals and seasonal residents a reliable, approachable home for “everyday law” on the East End—somewhere you can feel comfortable asking questions, confident that your concerns are being taken seriously, and fully informed about your options.

Who I Am

I’ve been practicing law for roughly two decades, working with clients on a wide range of real-world issues. Over the years, I’ve seen the same pattern play out again and again: people wait too long to reach out to a lawyer because they’re worried it will be stressful, expensive, or overly formal. By the time they finally call, the problem has grown—and so has the anxiety.

The Legal Nook is my answer to that.

This firm is intentionally small, personal, and focused. I built it to be the place you turn when something legal lands on your plate and you think, “I wish I could just ask someone who knows what they’re doing.” My role is to listen, clarify, and guide you—without judgment and without drama.

What I Focus On

I work with:

  • Seasonal and small businesses
Helping with lease and license agreements, operating agreements, employment contracts, wage and salary guidance, and town/event/building permits.

  • Homeowners and property issues
Reviewing property management contracts, vendor agreements (snow, landscaping, pool, etc.), and addressing the practical issues that come with owning a home on the East End.

  • Landlords and tenants
Assisting with lease review and negotiation, notices and letters, and understanding rights and responsibilities under New York law and local rules.

  • Individuals and families
Providing guidance on traffic violations and straightforward trust and estate matters, such as simple wills, powers of attorney, and health care proxies.

If it touches where you live, work, or spend your time on the East End, there’s a good chance it fits within what The Legal Nook is designed to handle.

How I Work

My approach is simple:

  1. Listen first.
I want to understand what’s going on, what matters most to you, and what a “good outcome” looks like from your perspective.

  2. Explain your options in plain English.
No legalese, no talking over you. I walk you through the possibilities, along with the pros and cons of each.

  3. Be transparent about fees.
Not every issue takes the same amount of time, and not every service should cost a fortune. I offer hourly work, flat-fee services where appropriate, and tailored seasonal business packages with the possibility of a modest monthly retainer for ongoing questions.

  4. Stay steady and responsive.
I keep you updated, answer your questions, and make sure you’re never left wondering what’s happening with your matter.

Why “The Legal Nook”

I chose the name The Legal Nook because I wanted this to feel like a small, calm corner you can step into when you need support—not a maze of phone trees, gatekeepers, and formality.

This is meant to be a comfortable, approachable space for everyday legal questions. You don’t have to know what kind of matter you have, what statute applies, or even exactly what you’re asking yet. You just have to know something doesn’t feel right, you’re not sure what to sign, or you’d rather not navigate it alone.

A Note To You

If you’ve been sitting on a question because you’re worried it’s “too small,” “too messy,” or “not worth bothering a lawyer,” that’s exactly what The Legal Nook, PLLC is here for.

You don’t have to have it all sorted out. You just have to reach out.
